People who volunteer tend to have higher self-esteem, psychological well-being, and happiness. All of these things go up as their feelings of social connectedness goes up, which in reality, it does. It also improves their health and even their longevity. --- Mark Snyder, Head of the Center for the Study of the Individual and Society at the University of Minnesota.
At norVOLution, our mission is to provide meaningful volunteer experiences for all members of our community; with a special focus on volunteer opportunities for older adults who are looking to give back.
We are recruiting volunteer facilitators to support a daily calendar of whole body and mind activities in our Wellness Center. Programming will take place during the mid-day in some of Norwood Crossing's most attractive and liveliest areas: the Brain Fitness lab, the Library, and our Meditation Room. The Wellness Program will be more than just a set of activities, but a commitment to a personalized nurturing of the mind, body and soul of both our residents and our volunteers.
